The Chairman of the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (SINPF) Board, Dr. Philip Tagini, says the announcement of the Fund’s annual crediting rate on 30 September 2026 is one of the most significant events on the Fund’s calendar.

Speaking during the Interest Declaration Ceremony, Dr. Tagini said that five decades ago, the nation's visionary leaders established a fund designed to safeguard the financial future of Solomon Islands workers.

"Our leaders understood that while wages sustain the present, savings secure the future. That vision has grown into the strong, resilient Solomon Islands National Provident Fund that we proudly celebrate today during its 50th Anniversary," he said.

Dr. Tagini noted that the occasion was not only about announcing the annual crediting rate to members' accounts as at 30 June 2026, but also about commemorating the Fund's remarkable journey over the past fifty years.

"Today, we not only announce and publicize our annual crediting rate, a measure of our commitment to members' financial growth, but we also honour and celebrate half a century of trust, stability and growth. We pay tribute to the past Boards, management teams, employees, and members whose contributions have helped build the Fund into what it is today," he said.

Addressing guests at the ceremony, Dr. Tagini said the Board had undertaken a thorough and careful assessment of the Fund's financial performance before deciding on the crediting rate.

"This morning, my Board, guided by its commitment to protecting the interests of members while remaining mindful of the economic headwinds facing our nation, completed a meticulous evaluation of the Fund's financial performance," he said.

He explained that the Board's decision to award a 5.5 per cent crediting rate reflects a balanced approach that prioritizes the long-term sustainability of the Fund while continuing to deliver value to members.

"As we celebrate the Fund's 50th Anniversary, the rate announced today reflects the Board's prudent optimism, sound stewardship, and confidence in the underlying strength of the Fund. It demonstrates our commitment to fairness and prudence while ensuring the Fund remains well-positioned to withstand future uncertainties," Dr. Tagini said.

He reaffirmed the Board's commitment to safeguarding members' savings and ensuring the Fund continues to deliver sustainable growth for current and future generations of Solomon Islanders.
