The Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (SINPF) has reinforced its commitment to growing members' savings and supporting national economic development through strategic investments both locally and offshore during the financial year ending 30 June 2026.

Speaking during the presentation of the Fund's financial and operational performance for the 12-month period ending 30 June 2026, SINPF Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Mr. Mike Wate highlighted a number of key investment initiatives undertaken by the Board.

Mr. Wate revealed that the Board continued to support its newly established wholly owned subsidiary, Solomon Finance Limited, through the placement of $16 million to facilitate the company's lending expansion program aimed at providing more financial services opportunities to SINPF members.

He said the Board also strengthened its investment in government securities by purchasing $110 million worth of new Government Bonds, reflecting the Fund's confidence in supporting national development while generating stable long-term returns for members.

In addition, SINPF placed a $40 million term deposit with the Development Bank of Solomon Islands (DBSI) under a guarantee arrangement with the Solomon Islands Government. The investment is expected to contribute to supporting economic growth initiatives while ensuring the security of members' funds.

The Fund further maintained its participation in the Treasury Bill market, acquiring $13 million worth of Treasury Bills during the reporting period.

Beyond the domestic market, SINPF expanded its offshore investment portfolio to enhance diversification and improve long-term investment performance. The Board purchased Australian Government Bonds valued at $11.4 million, providing exposure to a secure international investment market.

Mr. Wate also announced that the Fund made its first investment in Fiji through the purchase of $0.54 million worth of units in the Unit Trust Fund of Fiji, marking a significant milestone in SINPF's offshore investment strategy.

"The Board remains focused on pursuing prudent and diversified investments that safeguard members' savings while generating sustainable returns over the long term," Mr. Wate said.

As a result of these strategic investments, the Fund's gross investment portfolio increased to $4.74 billion as at 30 June 2026, representing growth of just over 3 percent compared to $4.20 billion recorded in 2025.

The continued growth of SINPF's investment portfolio demonstrates the Fund's strong financial position and its commitment to delivering long-term value to members through sound investment management and diversification across local and international markets.
