DFAT Lease Agreement Strengthens SINPF Investment Portfolio: Sir Dr. Rodgers

The Chairman of the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (SINPF) Board, Sir Dr. Jimmie Rodgers, says the signing of the DFAT Town Houses lease agreement in Honiara on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, will boost investments for SINPF members.

Sir Dr. Rodgers said the new townhouse development is an important investment project for SINPF and demonstrates confidence in the Solomon Islands housing sector.

He also acknowledged Australia’s continued partnership and commitment to Solomon Islands through the lease agreement for the new townhouses.

Speaking in response to remarks by the Australian High Commissioner, Sir Dr. Rodgers highlighted that the agreement represents a strong partnership between the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (SINPF) and the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

At the signing ceremony in Honiara, Australian High Commissioner His Excellency Jeff Roach highlighted the strong and enduring partnership between Australia and Solomon Islands.

Mr. Roach emphasized that the lease agreement reflects Australia’s long-term commitment to Solomon Islands and the importance of quality accommodation for Australian diplomats and their families serving in the country.

He also acknowledged the cooperation with SINPF in delivering the townhouse project.

The High Commissioner noted that Australia and Solomon Islands “share a region, an ocean and a future,” and reaffirmed Australia’s commitment to supporting development, economic growth, and people-to-people ties in Solomon Islands.

Present at the signing ceremony were SINPF Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Mike Wate, members of the SINPF Board of Directors, the SINPF Management Team, and senior officials from the Australian High Commission.
